Have you ever bought an item of clothing or a pair of shoes that is a bit out there? The sort of thing that your girlfriends ‘get’ but makes your other half raise a confused eyebrow? For me, backless loafers definitely fall into this category.
The Gucci fur-lined backless loafer has had me scratching my head in both bewilderment and wonder for some time. I must admit that I have been on the fence where this trend is concerned but I like to persevere at these things you see – and I found a great pair from M&S on the Endource website. M&S are having a shoe moment (yes, really) so make sure you check them out.
I’m delighted with my stylish purchase as they are comfortable and oh! so practical. I am always flying out the door with my laces undone because I am late for something or other but I can just slip these loafers on and fly out the door! I’ve been wearing mine mostly with black skinny jeans (I can’t give them up) but they look bang on trend with raw hem denim and a classic trench. The ubiquitous midi skirt works well too.
They will be tricky to wear on very cold and wet days as we go through the latter part of autumn and into winter but I’d say layer up to take the edge off your chilly ankles!
PS: You might be confused as to why I bought my loafers from Endource as opposed to directly from M&S. Well, Endource is a new online shopping destination that fulfils the role of both fashion magazine and one stop shop for all the latest trends. Endource produce an edit of the best fashion out there endorsed by glossy magazines, fashion editors and bloggers so you know that when you search for velvet ankle boots for example, you are getting the pick of the crop without having to do the legwork.
You get a real cross section of fashion items, you will find very exclusive high end fashion alongside supermarket brands. Simply browse, add items to your basket, check out and your goods will arrive from each individual retailer in the usual way.
